- Will verify patient insurance, obtaining all appropriate information, including but not limited to effective date, any termination date, applicable deductible, applicable co-insurance/co-pay amounts, applicable out of pocket amount, prior authorization requirements, visit limits for any discipline, home health/hospice benefit including any non-covered services, verify therapy in home health vs outpatient therapy benefits, homebound requirements, and any accumulations
- Be able to clearly and correctly quote benefit coverage to patients
- Timely and accurately obtain and maintain prior authorization of services, if applicable by insurance.
- Verify all appropriate documents, visits, orders, and any applicable RAP/NOA claims are processed and in chart prior to billing.
- Communicate with DON/ADON, medical records, and clinicians to obtain/complete any missing items.
- Submit/bill ready claims through Clearinghouse.
- Follow up on billed claims (AR follow-up) to make sure they are on file and in process with insurance.
- If any issues arise during claims processing, follow up on next steps (reconsideration/appeal/rebill corrected claim)
- After claim processes appropriately with insurance, transfer to and bill the patient for any applicable patient responsibility.
- Obtain, review for accuracy, and post insurance payments.
- Send monthly statements to patients.
- Follow up with patient on outstanding balances.
- Send collection warnings with outstanding balances accordingly.
- Obtain all appropriate documents needed to send a patient’s balance to collections and email to Administrator for further action.
- Must demonstrate support of the mission, vision, and values of the organization.
- Expected to contribute to the strategic planning, day -to-day operations and attainment of the strategic initiatives of the organization.
- Understand and adheres to established Agency policies and procedures.
- Work with messaging system
- Serve as a role model for all colleagues by setting an example of high standards in dress, conduct, cooperation, and job performance.
- Provide accurate and timely follow up and follow through to team members, providers, and patients
- Monitor appropriate daily workloads of team members
- Serve as a point resource person to team members with welcoming, approachable, open-door policy
- During IDT and when opportunities arise, share your knowledge with team
- Have open relationship with HH DON and ADON, Hospice DON and ADON, and entire team
- Be available and flexible to cover other types of office positions as needed.
- Participate in the weekend and holiday rotation as assigned
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
