What are the responsibilities and job description for the Per Diem RN, Flexible schedule position at Brio Living Services?
Status: Non-Exempt, Per Diem/Flex
Shift/Schedule: Varies, must be able to work 3 (three) days per month, with 2 (two) days being a weekend shifts & 2 Holiday rotations required.
Pay range: $38.08 - $45.22/hr. (this rate is inclusive of the $3.40/hr. Michigan Skilled Nursing Facility Direct Care Worker Pass-Through approved rate; current approval through September 30, 2025)
Overview:
The Nurse (RN) will provide comprehensive nursing care to our residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met in a supportive and respectful environment.
What you’ll do:
Resident Care and Support
- Deliver direct nursing care, including administering medications, performing treatments, and monitoring vital signs.
- Conduct thorough health assessments and monitor residents for changes in condition, reporting any concerns to the appropriate clinical team member.
- Provide wound care and other specialized nursing procedures.
- Monitor residents for adverse reactions and side effects, adjusting care plans as necessary.
Collaboration and Guidance
- Work closely with interdisciplinary teams to coordinate care and enhance residents' quality of life.
- Oversee the work of nursing assistants and support staff, providing guidance and mentoring as needed.
Documentation and Reporting
- Completes daily and monthly documentation, which is informative and descriptive, and reflects the care provided to the resident, as well as the resident's response to care.
- Performs admission and discharge procedures as directed.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date medical records, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards and facility policies.
Compliance and Safety
- Adhere to all safety, infection control, and regulatory protocols to maintain a safe environment for residents and team members.
- Follow proper infection control protocols to prevent the spread of illness and ensure a safe environment for residents and team members.
- Participate in ongoing training and education to maintain certification and stay updated on best practices in resident care.
- Adhere to ethical and professional standards of conduct, including maintaining resident confidentiality and respecting their rights and autonomy.

What it takes:
- Bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN) preferred; an associate degree may be considered with relevant experience.
- Current Registered Nurse (RN)
- Current CPR certification or BLS certification required.
- Previous experience working with the elderly / geriatric care preferred.
- Previous experience in a skilled nursing or long-term care environment.
- Position requires the ability to lift and move objects, weighing up to 35 pounds without assistance.
