Job Summary :
The Personal Care Attendant (PCA) provides supportive services to the participant in the home, community setting and / or in the adult day health center. The PCA's responsibilities for each participant are specified in the participant's life / care plan. The following statements are intended to describe the essential elements, functions, and requirements of the position. The list should not be taken as an exhaustive list of all responsibilities, duties, and skills required of an individual assigned to this job.
Skills and Knowledge :
Must be able to read, write, speak and understand the English language and follow written and oral instructions.
Must possess the ability to communicate tactfully with personnel, participants, family members, visitors, government agencies / personnel and the public.
Must have patience, tact, a cheerful, disposition and enthusiasm, as well as the willingness to handle difficult situations.
Ability to problem-solve and interpret instructions
Must possess the skills necessary to provide care for geriatric patients and must be able to function well in a team environment.
