What are the responsibilities and job description for the Resident Care Assistant- Part-time - 2nd Shift position at Brio Living Services?
Position Classification: Non-Exempt Part Time, approx. 19 hours per week
Schedule: 2nd shift - 2PM-10:15PM | 2-3 shifts/week including every other weekend and holiday rotation required
Community: Porter Hills Village | Memory Care
Location: Grand Rapids, MI
The Resident Assistant position promotes a healthy environment while assisting residents with personal care, medication assistance, and other services in accordance with the resident's service plan.
What you’ll do
- Assists new residents and families in the orientation process.
- Assists residents with activities of daily living.
- Assists residents in preparing for activities and social programs and transporting.
- Encourages each resident’s autonomy and dignity by communicating in a respectful and sensitive manner according to their needs.
- Interacts with residents in friendly manner while structuring their day and monitoring their needs.
- Maintains accurate documentation in resident’s charts.
- Plans, implements, and evaluates both individual and group activities.
- Assists residents with medications.
- Assists residents with treatments.
- Assists with meals.
What it takes
- Computer experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Knowledge of the appropriate skills for communicating with individuals of all ages, especially the geriatric population.
- Must be able to safely lift, push, pull, and carry up to a minimum of 50 lbs.
