Role Overview
As the Director of Bot Engineering & Quality, you’ll be our first onshore technical leader. You’ll bridge the gap between our offshore development team and our North American client base, ensuring everything from initial development to deployment runs smoothly. You won’t just be managing tickets—you’ll be hands-on with the code, ready to fix issues in real time.
Key Responsibilities
1. Real-Time Support & Troubleshooting
- Tackle high-priority issues for North American clients, often during business hours when our offshore team isn’t available.
- Lead post-deployment monitoring and maintenance to catch and resolve issues fast.
2. Quality Assurance & Testing
Oversee end-to-end QA processes, from unit testing to user acceptance, to ensure each bot release is polished and bug-free.Define testing protocols for new features, including client-provided sandbox environments and representative data.3. Code Review & Best Practices
Collaborate with offshore developers to review code, establish coding standards, and implement improvements.Stay ahead of industry trends, recommending new tools and techniques for more efficient bot development.4. Client Relationship Management
Act as a technical liaison for North American clients, translating complex technical info into actionable next steps for non-technical stakeholders.Gather feedback on performance, functionality, and usability—and ensure rapid iteration when needed.5. Team Building & Leadership
Lead the charge in hiring additional onshore team members, including engineers and QA specialists.Mentor and develop team members, fostering a culture of continuous learning, collaboration, and innovation.Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field. Master’s degree preferred but not required.Experience : 5 years of experience in software engineering or QA, with at least 2 years in a leadership or management role.Technical Expertise :Strong understanding of modern software development, particularly in bot / AI / chat solutions.Proficient in at least one major programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Java).Familiar with CI / CD pipelines, automated testing frameworks, and version control (Git).Communication Skills : Excellent written and verbal communication, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to clients and executive stakeholders.Problem-Solving : Track record of quickly diagnosing issues in production environments and implementing immediate, sustainable fixes.Preferred Qualities & Extras
Familiarity with natural language processing (NLP) platforms, AI frameworks, or chatbot development tools.Experience working in a global or distributed team setting.Comfort with agile methodologies and DevOps best practices.A knack for building processes from scratch—someone who loves finding new, efficient ways to get things done.What We Offer
