What are the responsibilities and job description for the Food Services Assistant Manager position at Bristol Adult Resource Center?
Bristol Adult Resource Center (BARC) is a private, non-profit organization supporting adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. We are currently seeking an Assistant Manager for our food service program and Hidden Café restaurant.
The ideal candidate would preferably have a background in working with individuals with Intellectual Disabilities, while working in a restaurant environment. The Food Service Assistant Manager reports to the Food Service Manager and is responsible in assisting with the overall daily operations of the program and restaurant.
Requirements:Monday - Friday 7:30am – 3:00pm - 37.5 hours
Minimum Requirements:
- At least two years working with adults with developmental disabilities preferred.
- Food Service experience preferred.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least age 18.
- Valid driver’s license, clean driving record and reliable transportation.

Responsibilities:
- Assist in daily operations ensuring food is prepared according to the menu and presentation standards while complying with all food safety regulations.
- Assist maintaining inventory levels as necessary to maintain stock.
- Address any inquiries or complaints from staff or customers promptly and professionally.
- Provide opportunities for learning new skills and independence by working on individuals’ goals and plans.
- Participate in various meetings, programmatic and business meetings.
- Electronically record daily activities maintaining confidentiality and complying with all policies and procedures to protect the identity, medical, HIPPA information.
- Provide safe and nurturing environment where Individuals are treated with dignity and respect, can exercise their rights and responsibilities and are protected from abuse or neglect.
- Obtain and maintain all required certifications and trainings (in person and online).
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Proven ability in food service and restaurant operations preferred.
- Excellent team management skills with the ability to motivate and lead a diverse group.
- Familiar with food safety standards and regulations to ensure compliance.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
Physical Efforts:
- May include extended periods of standing or walking in a food service environment.
- Positions may require the ability to independently lift at least 50 pounds.
