PURPOSE OF THE JOB: The primary purpose of this position is to optimize the server uptime and application availability tin the BBAHC environment. This is accomplished through timely maintenance and updates, well designed server configurations, attention to monitoring, alerts, and the user feedback through the ticketing system and applying all available information and analytical skills to resolve impeding and existing issues. The Systems Administrator is a key member of the IT team for ensuring the servers and the application s hosted on the servers are available to the end users with industry standards or better uptimes.

- Bachelor of Science (BS) in a Computer Science related field preferred.
- Certifications and/or specialized training in VMWare, vCenter, vSphere, ESXi are advantageous.
- At least three (3) years of experience in virtualization and server administration roles with progressive responsibilities and hands-on experience in virtual server environments.
- Experience in a healthcare setting highly desired.
- Familiarity with health care regulatory requirements as they apply to virtualization and server administration. HIPAA and HITECH and a strong awareness of the unique cybersecurity concerns of health care organizations' server infrastructures.
- Proficiency in virtualization tools and server operating systems such as VMWare, vCenter, vSphere platforms and the tools integrated into or added onto those environments. Windows, LINUX, and ESXi are the operating systems present for the vast majority of BBAHC servers.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate and resolve complex problems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
- Applied knowledge of virtualization, server operating systems, network connectivity, uptime, system administration, and virtualization and server security best practices.
