We are in search of a versatile individual to fill the role of Quality Control Manager / Site Safety & Health Officer at HCG, which is a part of Bristol Bay Construction Holdings LLC (BBCH). This opportunity is based at Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego, California .
Overview of the Project :
The A40 High Bay 5 facility is a secured, two-story area that consists of research and testing spaces, offices, open workstations, and collaboration rooms. The spaces are predominantly designated for business occupancy due to their general use and their focus on light electronics / computers research and testing. Bay 5 is situated in the High-Bay lab wing section of building A40. The project involves adding a second floor to an existing single-story area. Both the existing building and the new second floor are constructed with steel frames on a slab-on-grade foundation. The scope of work also encompasses mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and finishing trades to equip the newly built mezzanine.
Compensation :
120,000 - $135,000 yearly DOE
Responsibilities :
- Develop and implement the Quality Control Plan for projects at Naval Base Point Loma in San Diego, CA, following the Army Corps Three Phases of Control.
- Ensure that all submittals, plans, and specifications meet contract requirements, overseeing evaluations and testing by approved personnel or facilities.
- Provide documented evaluations and implement corrective actions to uphold high-quality standards and prevent recurring issues.
- Manage hazardous material reports and coordinate pre-final and final inspections, ensuring correction of all deficiencies and submission of as-built documents.
- Lead safety management by creating standardized Safety Programs, conducting site-specific orientations, and organizing weekly safety meetings.
- Conduct surveys of project sites to ensure compliance with safety standards, perform accident investigations, and apply necessary corrective actions.
- Collaborate with company safety professionals and subcontractors to enhance safety practices, provide proper training, and ensure appropriate equipment usage.

This position requires the ability to maneuver around work sites, see, hear, and verbally communicate with co-workers and clients. Essential and marginal functions may require maintaining the physical condition necessary for bending, stooping, sitting, walking, or standing for prolonged periods of time; frequent opportunities to move about and to work outside the office environment for extended periods involving exposure to the elements with weather that will include extreme heat, cold, wind, rain or other inclement weather, walking over rough and uneven surfaces, and routine lifting of up to 35 pounds. If required, must properly use personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times including but not limited to; hard hats, steel-toed boots, eye protection, respiratory protection, and hearing protection. Working Conditions :
Job is performed in a combination of office and outdoor site locations. The office setting includes exposure to computer screens and requires extensive use of a computer, keyboard, and mouse. Outdoor settings include walking, driving, and carrying supplies throughout all seasons with exposure to heat and cold conditions, and potentially wildlife. Occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles, toxic or caustic chemicals, and loud noise.
