POSITION TITLE: Assistant Director - MAICEI
DEPARTMENT: Academic Affairs-Behavioral & Social Sciences and Education (Division II)
PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River
REPORTS TO: MAICEI Director
POSITIONS SUPERVISED: MAICEI Career Development Specialists, Educational Coaches, Peer Tutors and other staff as assigned.
POSITION STATUS: This is a full-time, grant funded, non-unit professional position with benefits. The position may be subject to grant appropriations.
SALARY: Hiring salary range $87,550.00 - $91,982.22, commensurate with education and experience.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
The MAICEI Assistant Director works closely with the MAICEI Director to implement the Department of Higher Education's Initiative (MAICEI). They perform a variety of Initiative management duties. The MAICEI Assistant Director is responsible for, but not limited to, communicating MAICEI information to staff and the MAICEI Director, assists in tracking Initiative, outcomes, maintaining the contract's outcome requirements and provide monthly/annual reporting to the MAICEI Director. Along with the MAICEI Director they process, update and maintain MAICEI contract policies, procedures, and workflow. Additionally, the Assistant Director supervises MAICEI staff as assigned.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Create, update and maintain Initiative policies, procedures, internal controls, consistent with the MAICEI contract.
- Works closely with the MAICEI Director to develop staff capabilities and expectations.
- Promote a positive and inclusive work environment that supports the professional growth of staff while fostering a commitment to service excellence.
- Review staff timesheets for all assigned staff for approval by the MAICEI Director.
- Provide training to staff with the MAICEI Director.
- In conjunction with the MAICEI Director, monitor contract expenditures for reconciliation.
- Ensure accuracy of contract reporting requirements.
- Communicate MAICEI related policies and procedures with appropriate college departments.
- Along with the MAICEI Director, confer with various state agency personnel.
- Participate in various state-wide training.
- Ensure all records for the Initiative are accurately maintained and archived and are in accordance with proper standards.
- Assess various situations to determine the importance, urgency, and potential risk involved; and along with the MAICEI Director make decisions, are timey and in the best interest of the college as a whole.
- Handle and process confidential information with discretion and sensitivity.
- Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community.
- Assist with budget preparation and grant administration.
- Prepare/provide documentation.
- Distribute project information.
- Coordinate events with appropriate Bristol staff and the MAICEI Director.
- Manage pertinent records.
- Assist MAICEI Director in designing and developing related programs and training.
- Receives and refers funding source correspondence.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.
- Minimum of a Bachelor's degree.
- 5 (five) years of experience managing inclusive programs for individuals with Intellectual disabilities.
- An equivalent combination of education and experience shall be considered. Ability to work with sensitive, confidential information, maintaining the integrity and confidentiality of payroll and other employee related information.
- Ability to produce accurate, detailed work and analyze complex or difficult Initiative issues. Ability to assume responsibility and initiative to multitask and meet deadlines.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications, including Word, Excel, and Access.
- The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff. Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Reliable transportation in order to travel to and from meetings, trainings, or campus and community locations as required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Degree in Human Services or closely related field. Working knowledge of national and State programs supporting students with Intellectual Disabilities.
- Knowledge and experience utilizing the Massachusetts Inclusive Higher Educational service delivery Model.
- 7 (seven)Demonstrated years of direct work experience in Post Secondary Inclusion and Transitional Programs.
- Demonstrated work experience in a higher education setting.
- Demonstrated budget development and monitoring experience.
- Demonstrated work experience with Massachusetts DHE, DDS , School District programs and staff.
