POSITION TITLE: Bristol Student Ambassador (part-time)
DEPARTMENT: Vice President, Student Services & Enrollment Management
REPORTS TO: Student Experience Specialist
POSITION STATUS: This is a part-time, student employment opportunity, maximum 18.5 hours/week, some nights and weekends required.
SALARY: $15.50 per hour.
Student Ambassadors are hired on an as needed basis.
STATEMENT OF DUTIES
As a Student Ambassador in the Office of the Vice President for Student Services & Enrollment Management, you will serve as a student representative of Bristol with current and prospective students, their families, and other visitors. Your primary role involves staffing the Welcome Desk or Welcome Center at your assigned campus location and providing customer service, directions, and referrals. You will also be responsible for conducting engaging campus tours for prospective students and other visitors and sharing your experience at Bristol. You will also assist in staffing college events such as open houses, orientations, commencement, and other events, assisting with the promotion and encouraging student participation.
In addition to event support and promotion, you will gather feedback about student services, events, and programs from current students and share their perspectives. By participating in training sessions and staying informed about college policies, you will provide accurate information and help resolve minor issues, contributing to a positive and supportive campus environment. Your efforts will play a crucial role in enhancing the student experience and supporting students as they navigate Bristol.

Essential Functions, Duties, And Responsibilities
- Greeting and Directing Students and Visitors: Assist in staffing the assigned Welcome Desk or Welcome Center and provide directions and referrals to college departments as appropriate.
- Campus Tours: Conduct informative and engaging tours of campus locations for prospective students and other visitors.
- Event Assistance: Help staff college events, such as Open Houses, Admitted Students Days, New Student Orientation, Commencement, and other events throughout the year.
- Student Outreach: Promote campus programs, services, and events to fellow students through various communication channels, including serving on the Bristol Street Team and as a brand ambassador and influencer on social media platforms.
- Social Media Engagement: Manage and contribute to the college's social media platforms to highlight events, share student experiences, and engage with the community including on the Bristol App.
- Campus Representation: Serve as a positive representative of the college at various events, meetings, and in interactions with visitors and potential students.
- Feedback Collection: Gather and relay feedback from students to college administration to help improve campus services and programs.
- Collaboration: Work closely with college staff, faculty, and other student leaders to ensure smooth execution of events and initiatives.
- Training Participation: Attend training sessions to stay updated on college policies, programs, and student services.
- Cultural and Community Engagement: Promote and participate in diverse cultural and community activities to foster an inclusive campus environment.
- Problem Resolution: Assist in resolving minor issues or concerns that arise during campus events or interactions with students and visitors.
- Ambassador Recruitment: Help in the recruitment and training of new Student Ambassadors when needed.
- Representation of Student Perspective: Provide insight into student needs and perspectives to help shape college policies and programs.
- Professionalism: Demonstrate a sense of professionalism and consistently reflect Bristol's core values while interacting with members of the Bristol community.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Required Qualifications
NOTE: Unless otherwise noted, all required qualifications must be met by date of hire.
- Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent.
- Must be a currently enrolled Bristol Community College student in good academic and conduct standing.
- Effective communication skills and the ability to explain concepts to others clearly.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
- The ability to work effectively with a diverse student body, faculty, and staff.
- Must have reliable transportation.
- Demonstrated familiarity with Bristol resources available to students.
- Experience working with college students and/or the communities we serve.
- Experience using social media platforms.
- Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English.
