POSITION: Staff Associate - Human Resources (Part-time)
DEPARTMENT: Human Resources
REPORTS TO: Senior Director of Human Resources
PRIMARY LOCATION: Fall River, MA (Onsite)
WORK SCHEDULED: Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday 9am - 3pm
HOURLY RATE: $31.69
STATEMENT OF DUTIES: The Staff Associate- Human Resources is responsible for fulfilling operational functions within the department. This individual will typically be the first contact for office visitors, and thereby must provide professional, supportive service. They will be responsible for customer service, connecting employees to services, and providing guidance to visitors on Human Resource processes. A central function will be to ensure smooth and efficient office operations and to provide administrative, operational, and organizational support for other functions within the department.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS, DUTIES, AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Provide excellent customer service when interacting with staff/faculty and the public or other Bristol constituents.
- Act as the main point of contact for the Human Resources office.
- Engage in HR record-keeping and document collection as needed.
- Perform confidential administrative tasks associated with department activities, including but not limited to responding to phone calls, emails, and in-person inquiries, as well as assisting with the completion of forms.
- Intake, review, ensure completeness of, and file employee records and other confidential materials to ensure compliance with state laws.
- Assist with maintaining inventory levels of various office supplies and equipment; order and stock office supplies, equipment, and literature.
- Organize and prepare meeting agendas.
- Collect, monitor and maintain data for HR analytics.
- Have a general knowledge of HR functions to advise, direct and assist as needed.
- Handle routine employee inquiries related to policies, benefits, and organizational procedures.
- Prepares HR-related reports, presentations and documentation.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive HR data and ensure compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Job Requirements:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Two years of full-time, or equivalent part-time, experience in office management, office administration, business administration or business management.
- Two years' experience record keeping and data collection within an HR environment.
- Highschool Diploma Required.
Any equivalent combination of the required experience and the substitutions below:
Substitutions:
An Associate or higher degree with a major in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for the required experience.
An Associate or higher degree with a major other than in business administration, business management or public administration may be substituted for a maximum of one year of the required experience.
Education toward such a degree will be prorated based on the proportion of the requirements completed.
Additional Required Qualifications:
- Knowledge of the principles and practices of office management, including customer service and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge of the methods of general report writing.
- Demonstrated skills in the use of software applications and computer equipment.

- Determine proper format and procedure for assembling items of information.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum of an associate degree.
- Demonstrated experience working in a higher education environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Prior experience working within Interview Exchange
- Ability to communicate in a language in addition to English.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIROMNENT:
- Ability to move and lift office supplies up to 20 pounds.
- Sitting for substantial periods of time.
