Job Summary :
Completes, analyzes, develops and implements the organizations benefit policies, plans (eg. medical / dental / vision / life / retirement / PTO / CT Paid Leave) and communications. Participates in surveys and develops and develops cost and other analysis. Maintains awareness and ensures compliance with regulatory requirements. Assists with special projects as needed. Supervises the Benefits Administrator.
Essential Job Functions and Responsibilities :
- Serves as the Benefits subject matter expert for Human Resources, effectively communicating with employees to understand their benefit offerings.
- Continuously researches, recommends and implements benefit options that will be cost effective and attractive to the employee population.
- Serves as project lead for annual benefits open enrollment.
- Serves as project lead for audit, compliance and information requests.
- Serves as primary liaison with system vendors.
- Designs, manages and administers 403B plan, health, dental, life and disability plans, and other hospital benefit programs. Ensure proper administration, competitive position, system support and cost requirements.
- Installs approved new plans and changes by preparing announcement material for communicating new plans to employees and coordinating with vendors plan documents.
- Oversees preparation of 5500s and other required filings to ensure that benefit and defined contribution plans are in compliance with ERISA and federal regulations.
- Supports employees with problem resolution as needed.
- Oversees the Benefits Administrator who works closely with FMLA administrator as well as the CT Paid Leave Authority to track and stay informed of employee leaves.
