Make an impact! Are you interested in developing and growing your career? Qualified candidates will be trained to scrub for c-sections on our Families are First unit. Under the supervision of our outstanding L&D RN's, the OB Technician will provide patient care and comfort through labor, delivery, recovery and the postpartum period. Additional responsibilities include; patient care of the mother and her baby, phlebotomy, restocking maternity and OR supplies, setting up Labor and Delivery tables and completing other tasks in support of quality patient care for mother and baby. Educational / Minimum Requirements :
Experience : Must have patient care experience. At least two (2) years preferred.
State / Federal Mandated Licensure or Certification Requirements :
- CNA or PCT required
- Scrub Tech Certification required
Bristol Hospital Mandated Educational Requirements :
General orientation at time of hire. Accucheck, CPR, Fire / Safety / Infection Control annually. Health Care Provider CPR from American Heart Association or Red Cross. All recertification must be American Heart Association BLS. Additional cross-training as appropriate to perform diverse job duties. Successfully complete all training programs as determined by the Hospital. Other unit based competencies / skills as required.
Special Requirements :
Knowledge of basic patient care procedures, medical terminology, and surgical instruments. Ability to work as part of a team. Data entry and documentation skills.
Physical Requirements :
Significant walking, bending, stooping, patient lifting and positioning. Manual dexterity required.
Work Environment :
Normal patient care environment. Exposure to patient fluids and waste. Rapid pace and variable environment.
Cognitive Requirements :
Mental flexibility to perform diverse duties involved in patient care. Good communication skills, written and oral, and ability to follow written and oral instruction.
