Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medication Technician both 7pm-7am and 7am- 7pm, to join our team in providing exceptional care to our residents. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medication administration and a passion for enhancing the quality of life for seniors. As a Medication Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that residents receive their medications safely and effectively while adhering to all regulatory standards.
Responsibilities
- Administer medications to residents in accordance with physician orders and facility policies.
- Maintain accurate medical documentation, including medication administration records and resident health updates.
- Monitor residents for side effects or adverse reactions to medications and report any concerns to nursing staff.
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and maintain confidentiality of resident information.
- Collaborate with care staff and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care for residents.
- Participate in training sessions on medical terminology, physiology, and dementia care to enhance skills and knowledge.
- Support senior care initiatives by engaging with residents and promoting their well-being.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in a nursing home, assisted living facility, memory care facility or acute care setting is preferred.
- Knowledge of physiology, medical terminology, and medication administration practices is essential.
- Experience in dementia care or senior care is highly desirable.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively within a team environment while demonstrating compassion and empathy towards residents.
- Must be able to pass background checks as required by state regulations.
