Job Summary

This is an individual contributor role responsible for managing outsourcing within a specific therapeutic area. The role involves overseeing clinical trial vendor partnerships across multiple service categories and ensuring compliance with regulatory and ethical standards, as well as Bristol-Myers Squibb's (BMS) outsourcing and procurement policies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the main point of contact for outsourcing at the trial level, facilitating vendor selection, managing Statements of Work (SOWs), and overseeing vendor performance and budget.
  • Lead or provide oversight for outsourcing activities, coordinating with operational teams, support groups, and service providers to ensure successful contracting and execution of outsourced studies.
  • Provide strategic leadership, support, and training to study teams on outsourcing, ensuring alignment with BMS outsourcing strategies.
  • Develop expertise in specific outsourcing categories (e.g., CRO/FSP, labs, technology) and serve as a resource to colleagues.
  • Manage vendor relationships and serve as a point of contact for vendor-related issues, ensuring vendor commitments and timelines are met.
  • Ensure compliance with financial and resource obligations in vendor contracts.
  • Collaborate with matrix partners like Global Procurement to ensure smooth vendor interactions and study execution.
  • Research industry best practices and apply relevant improvements to BMS operations.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree (advanced degree preferred) in clinical or scientific discipline.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in clinical development (pharma, biotech, CRO).
  • Experience in managing clinical service providers and executing financial/legal agreements.
  • Proven ability to manage stakeholders, including senior leaders, and influence changes when necessary.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to manage cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
  • Ability to adapt to complex and ambiguous environments while managing multiple priorities effectively.

On-site Protocol

BMS has a diverse occupancy structure that determines where an employee is required to conduct their work.
