Position Summary
The Radiochemist will be responsible for performing both radiochemical and analytical methods for the drug product, quality control, and isotope supply programs at RayzeBio. This position will utilize a wide range of analytical and radiochemical disciplines to support the advancement of novel targeted radiopharmaceuticals from the R&D phase through clinical development to GMP commercial radiopharmaceutical production. Additional responsibilities may include the onboarding of new technologies, process development, routine equipment maintenance, GMP operations & QC support, and future facility expansion projects.
Key Responsibilities
Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Execute independently radiochemical and analytical methods.
Support the technical transfer of radiochemical methods from other RayzeBio and third-party sites to the Indianapolis facility.
Support development work related to RayzeBio’s drug product pipeline and programs.
Manage third party vendors in support of analytical and laboratory equipment.
Draft GMP documentation including but not limited to SOP’s, forms, and reports.
Support activities related to hot cells, gloveboxes, and production cleanrooms.
Ensure compliance with NRC, EH&S and US/EU GMP regulatory guidelines as required.
Less than 5% travel required.
Education and Experience
BS 3 years of experience in Radiochemistry or other scientific equivalent work experience.
MS 1 years of experience in Radiochemistry or other scientific equivalent work experience.
PhD 0 years of experience in Radiochemistry or other scientific equivalent work experience.
3 years of experience working with radioactive materials.
Experience with Good Manufacturing Processes (GMP) and Good Documentation Practices (GDP) is highly desirable.
Skills and Qualifications
Experience with radiometal labeling or radiopharmaceutical synthesis
Experience with wet radiochemistry and/or ion-exchange column separations
Experience with analytical methods (HPLC, gamma spec, alpha spec, ICP-MS, ICP-OES, Radio-TLC, etc.)
Experience working with radioactive materials, alpha emitters highly desirable.
Excellent professional ethics, integrity, and ability to maintain confidential information.
Able to work both independently and in a group setting.
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, reach with hands and arms, and talk or hear. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 30 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision.
This is a position that requires working in a laboratory environment, protective clothing, gloves, and safety glasses are required while working in a laboratory environment with radioactive materials.
Work Environment
The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
