POSITION TITLE: CENTRAL OFFICE COURIEROpen until filled
DEPARTMENT: CUSTODIAL
REPORTS TO: DIRECTOR OF FINANCE AND OPERATIONS
SUMMARY: Coordinates the distrubution of supplies and equipment to the various schools.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for delivery of all materials assigned to central storage, including Office of Technology equipment, Grant purchases, and deliveries, Office of the Superintendent,
Special Services, Office of Teaching & Learning books and supplies, government supplies, and custodial and maintenance supply delivery.
CUSTODIAL/COURIER DUTIES:
1. Serves as Site Manager from 7:00am to 3:30pm for Central Office
2. Opening of BoE, daily checking of building equipment (sch as heating/cooling) and building temperatures
3. Conduct a daily Safety 1st proactive early morning action plan to ensure the building is ready to be occupied
4. Observe and adhere to daily flag protocols
5. Recommend supplies and equipment for purchase and maintain an inventory of tools, equipment, and supplies
6. Assist in emergency maintenance operations as necessary
7. Shared duties associated with grass cutting, weeding, site cleanup, snow removal, and spreading of ice melt.
8. Daily sorting of BoE interoffice, postal mail, and City Hall mail
9. City Hall duties include weekly check pickup via Business Office requests and instructions
10. Daily post office drop-offs and runs, UPS and FedEX drop-offs as needed
11. Point person for special delivery assignments
12. Maintains postal vehicle with our service vendor. Responsible for recommendation on general repairs, maintenance, and tires
13. Assists warehouse with general deliveries and time-sensitive packages
14. Special pick-ups/deliveries including checks, timesheets, dress-down funds,etc
15. Assistance with time-sensititve BoE indoor/outdoor setups
16. Outside trash cleanup assistance
17. Assistance at other district locations as needed
18. BoE Site Manager 2nd shift coverage if needed
19. Other duties assigned by the Director of Finance and Operations
20. Pick up and transport parcles, packages, and other deliverables
21. Coordinater work with Central and Operations Offices
22. Ensure compliance with all releavant safety regulations
23. Performs general maintenance work and all other duties as may be assigned
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
None.
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: TO PERFORM THIS JOB SUCCESSFULLY, AN INDIVIDUAL MUST BE ABLE TO PERFORM EACH ESSENTIAL DUTY SATISFACTORILY. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
A high school diploma or general education degree (GED) is preferred
A valid motor vehicle license is required
At least 21 years of age
Ability to lift up to 50lbs
Safe driving skills and strong customer service skills
LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups and other employees. Ability to communicate effectively and professionally with vendors and staff.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to add and subtract two digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10s and 100s. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume and distance.
COMPUTER SKILLS:
Proficiency with email applications.
REASONING ABILITY:
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff and the community. Ability to perform duties with awareness of district requirements and Board of Education Policies.

The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to fifty (50) pounds, such as cleaning supplies, pails and unloading trucks. Occasionally, the employee will lift heavier items and should do so with assistance. The employee will sometimes push/pull items such as tables, bleachers, scrubbing machines. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly works indoors and will occasionally work outdoors. The employee will work near or with moving mechanical equipment. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
