- Possess a valid Driver's License to operate a vehicle.
- Oversee the appearance and maintenance of the vehicle order, receive, and catalogue materials for the book mobile.
- Prepare materials for circulation.
- Partner with area businesses and community organizations to provide enrichment programs and incentives.
- Collaborate to develop marketing strategies and materials.
- Conduct periodic inventory.
- Set-up programs at sites and implement literacy and STEM activities.
- Attend staff meetings and training as required.
- Work closely with the Office of Teaching and Learning to follow best practices in choosing all literacy/STEM materials.
- Performs such other duties and assumes responsibilities as assigned by the Director of Teaching and Learning and/or the Superintendent of Schools.
- Coordinate the operation, stocking, outfitting, scheduling and programming of the mobile library
- Supervise staff and volunteers in a manner conducive to full performance
- Degree in teaching or library science or equivalent experience
- Coursework or teaching/library experience
- Coursework in literacy development preferred
- Knowledge of professional library best practices, principles, methods and materials
- Knowledge of STEM preferred
- Knowledge of customer service principles and techniques
- Ability to develop and conduct a read-aloud program
- Ability to develop and implement STEM activities
- Ability to operate IT equipment on the mobile library
- Knowledge of library automatic systems and applications

POSITION TITLE: Director, WOW Mobile (Literacy/STEM Book Mobile)
DEPARTMENT: TEACHING & LEARNING
REPORTS TO: Office of Teaching and Learning
SUMMARY:
The director has the responsibility of coordinating the programs and executing instructional activities associated with the operation of the book mobile. This staff member works closely with the OTL STEM & Literacy Supervisors.
