Summary:
The Chaplain provides patient spiritual/pastoral care for patients, families, and team members. The Chaplain will coordinate and conduct support mechanisms (i.e.: Code Lavender, CISM, SBIRT, and others as assigned) involving spiritual and emotional support for co-workers, patients and visitors. The Chaplain will ensure that religious and spiritual needs of all are addressed within the areas assigned. This person will represent their facility on the respective Clinical Ethics Advisory Committee (Patient Care Consulting Committee) and provides ethics consultation. The Chaplain is responsible for the volunteer chaplain program and supportive of the Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) program at their assigned site(s), including recruitment, orientation, training, appreciation events, and retention. This person will be flexible with work schedule, able to serve on call shifts, and able to transfer from one facility to the other.
Requirements:
Master of Divinity degree (M.Div.) or equivalent from an accredited Seminary or Theological School (ATS certified institution). Completion of four units of Clinical Pastoral Education (CPE) accredited by the Association of Clinical Pastoral Education (ACPE).
- Valid and active Board-Certified Chaplain (BCC) by the Association of Professional Chaplains (APC) required. Will accept provisional BCC with one year or less toward official board certification status.
- Endorsed by an official religious body.
