Job Purpose
Reporting to the VP Global PR & Communications, the Director of Publicity, BritBox International (BBI) will be responsible for leading the North America publicity & events function to drive awareness and build the reputation and success of the company among key stakeholders. This includes management of external partners that assist in driving and executing long lead and in-campaign television and digital outreach, talent appearances, junket and premiere exposure, set visits, major national efforts, as well as localized events.
This role requires proactive initiative with minimal direction and the ability to seek out information from various sources and have exceptional follow through. The individual will be expected to communicate clearly with both external partners, talent reps and creatives.
Responsibilities:
- Partner with VP to create, lead and execute publicity strategies across programming slate
- Lead all aspects of print, online and broadcast press offers for priority titles
- Have a thorough understanding and maintain communication through strong, established relationships with all key publicity partners and media outlets.
- Function as a subject matter expert and partner with the marcomms team to develop series-specific launch campaigns.
- Pitch and manage press for premieres, junkets, conventions and specialty events.
- Conduct and drive publicity and marketing meetings for campaign planning and share updates pertaining to press across the department.
- Cover talent interviews for events and appearances.
- Support VP in the management of US & Canadian agencies and independent events companies
- Work with other international Communications / Marketing teams to ensure alignment and that North America activity and assets are leveraged for other markets where needed
Knowledge and Experience
- Extensive level of experience in the entertainment industry, in theatrical, broadcast and/or streaming publicity
- Knowledge of and passion for quality TV, British talent & influencer/opinion-former base
- Ability to manage multiple projects concurrently, requiring excellent organizational skills
- Persuasive with the ability to get key objectives across the line even when faced with opposition
- Understanding of evolving audience requirements and changes across the wider streaming and media industry
- Strong organization and communication skills are required to interface effectively with internal and external parties.
- Experience interfacing and collaborating with executives, talent and creatives
- Strong US consumer, trade media, influencer, awards and event relationships.
- In-depth knowledge of the North American and international TV & streaming landscape, and some knowledge of British programming
- Self-starter and determined approach to achieve success in new environments and structures
- World class publicity, talent relations and events experience, ideally in streaming/TV or film, in entrepreneurial and hands-on environments
- Excellent written and verbal communications skills
- Strong collaboration skills to enable productive creative and strategic partner support
- Calm in pressured situations
- Working knowledge of Microsoft-based software: Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
Salary Range: $120 - 150K base salary competitive benefits bonus potential
Please note that the salary range is intended to give as an indicator of the salaries that could be attributed to the breadth or experience for a given role. All candidates will be measured based on their level of experience.
We work flexibly at BritBox, to support new markets some work may be conducted outside of US business hours to coordinate with territories in other time zones.
