Duties
Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures, ensuring all necessary instruments and materials are prepared and available.
Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during treatments.
Maintain accurate medical records and documentation in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Manage patient scheduling, including follow-up appointments and reminders.
Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and postoperative care.
Utilize 3D scanners for imaging as needed in various dental procedures.
Support pediatric dentistry by creating a friendly atmosphere for young patients.
Assist in the management of dental supplies, including inventory control and ordering as necessary.
Stay updated on advancements in dental technology and procedures, including prosthodontics and endodontics.
Qualifications
Previous experience as a Dental Assistant is preferred but not required.
Knowledge of medical coding and medical documentation is beneficial.
Familiarity with anatomy knowledge relevant to dental practices.
Strong understanding of HIPAA regulations to ensure patient confidentiality.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on patient interaction.
Certification or training in dental assisting is a plus but not mandatory.
