Overview
A private, discerning family of four in Atherton, California is seeking an exceptional chef to join their team for a term of 6 to 12 months as an independent contractor. At the end of the contract, there may be an opportunity to become a full-time employee. The candidate must be flexible and able to work all shift variations as it’s imperative the team be interchangeable to provide optimal service to the principals. This is a formal, fully staffed household. Shopping, service, inventory, and other cooking/kitchen duties will be assigned to each chef. The family is looking to hire immediately.
Responsibilities
- Plan and prepare meals according to the principal’s preferences and specifications, including precise measurements
Present formal plated meals
Grocery shop and place orders as assigned
Create menus using Canva or similar app
Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and workspace
Clean/wash all pots, pans, appliances, dishes and leave kitchen clean for the next chef
Qualifications
Ability to cook various cuisines
Professional, mature, and even-keeled
Takes feedback constructively
Excellent communicator
Tech savvy
Team-player
Requirements
Must be able to precisely follow principal’s instructions and measure or heat exactly as requested
Ability to travel domestically and internationally if needed
Legal to work in the US
Food handlers’ certificate
Ability to work a rotating schedule
Fine dining experience
- Willing to sign and adhere to an NDA
