Overview
A sweet elderly woman in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a live-in or live-out companion. The hours for this role are flexible and dependant on the candidate. The family is open to someone local who wishes to work the daytime shift, or someone who prefers to live-in. There is not a dedicated private room/bathroom as the woman lives in a small apartment- if living in, the companion will be provided with a bed in the living area. The family is open to an arrangment with two companions who work on a rotating basis as well; they really just want to find fantastic consistent care.
Responsibilities
- Light tidying throughout the day (there is a regularly scheduled housekeeper to handle most housekeeping)
- Transporting the principal to errands, the grocery store, and medical appointments
- Help manage medication
- Provide the family with regular updates and be the point of contact for doctors
- Occasionally travel with the principal to NYC to visit her children
- Keep her company during the day- her preferred activities reading and watching television
- Potential for meal preparation if desired
Qualifications
- Experience working with the elderly
- Patience and compassion
- Flexibility and willingness to adapt as her needs change
Requirements
- Local to Pittsburgh or willing to live-in (no private room available)
- US work authorization
- Driver's license
Salary and Benefits
- $30-35/hr.
