Overview
A loving and kind family of three in Brooklyn Heights is seeking a full-time live-out nanny/family assistant to join their family ASAP and care for their infant who is almost 1-year-old. The schedule would be live-out Monday through Friday, with 40 hours guaranteed. Most weeks will be a base of 9am-4pm, with some flexibility needed to stay later one night a week or come in on the weekend with notice. Any schedule changes will be communicated in advance. This position is not looking to relocate, so you should already be living local to the city and within commuting distance of Brooklyn. The family is looking for a teammate who can bounce between tasks and help them maximize the quality time they spend with their child. Both parents work and are looking for someone to hit the ground running with ideas and suggestions.
Responsibilities
- Full-charge daily care for an infant: feeding, bathing, changing
- Prepare bottles, feed, and handle all bottle washing and sanitizing items
- Preparing healthy meals for the child including solids and purees
- Actively nurturing and engaging the baby in educational and developmentally appropriate activities that encourage physical and mental growth
- Transporting to and from activities and play dates as needed
- Maintaining the child’s nap, eating, class, and play schedules
- Keeping home’s main spaces including kitchen and living area and child's room and play areas organized and tidy
- Child's laundry as needed
- Light housekeeping including loading and unloading the dishwasher, fold adult laundry, tidy up at the end of the day, etc. The family has a housekeeper for deep cleaning but everyone helps out around the house
- Walk and feed a friendly family dog
Qualifications
- Proactive and self-starter; these parents are not looking to micromanage and need a career nanny who will come in with experience and ideas and know what stage is coming next (toddler meal ideas, activities, outings, etc).
- Playful personality with a sense of humor
- Safety conscious and street smart: good judgment and instincts
- High cleanliness standards, organized and tidy
- Flexible: happy to help mom create routines as the family moves into the toddler stage
- Mature and professional
- Willing and excited to travel during summer to second home in Connecticut eventually; not required but nice to have
Requirements
- Prior infant and toddler experience in a private home
- Comfortable with a friendly dog

- Legal to work in the US
Salary and Benefits
$32-35 per hour plus applicable overtime
10 days PTO, sick days, and holidays
