Overview
A private professional living in Pacific Heights is seeking a head housekeeper for her formal multi staffed 50,000 sq ft. home. This is a full-time position, Monday through Friday, 40 hours per week. When the principal is in residence the schedule is from 8am to approximately 8pm (can be earlier/later depending on when dinner is served). When the principal is out of town the schedule is 8am to 5pm. Overtime is required when the principal is in residence (about four to five times per year, for approximately 4 weeks per visit). There are accommodations in the home so that this could be a live-in position for those wishing to relocate to California.Responsibilities
This position will be in charge of the current 2 cleaning staff to provide complete cleaning of the home, personal laundry and household linens, ironing sheets and linens, preparing simple meals or food prep, and occasionally feeding 3 small dogs when the principal is home. Additional duties include;
- Caring for all fine silver, china, crystal, and antiques
- This is a hands on working role alongside current cleaning staff
- The principals adult daughter lives in the home with her own staff
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have extensive long-term experience working in large, high-end, multi-staffed homes. They will also;
- Be familiar with formal table service
- Have strong communication skills
Requirements
- Must be okay working in a home with a smoker
- Working around dogs- 3 tiny Chihuahuas that travel with the principal and stay with her in her areas when she is home. You would be responsible for feeding the doggies when she is home.
- Must have experience and knowledge in how to clean and care for special fabrics, carpets, surfaces in the home
- Must be a team-player who is able to work well with other staff
- Comfortable with overtime and working holidays
Salary and Benefits
- $60 per hour plus paid vacation, paid holidays, paid sick days, partially covered health insurance including dental and vision and guaranteed pay for 52 weeks of the year.
- There is also a 401k plan to participate in if the employee wishes to.
