Overview
A soon-to-be family of four, with homes in Brooklyn Heights and Garrison, NY, is immediately seeking a highly experienced, live-out, educated career nanny for their 3-year-old and newborn (due in early December- there will be a baby nurse for at least the baby’s first 6 months). The schedule will Monday through Friday from 7:30/8am to 6/7pm, with flexibility. The family spend from June through Labor Day outside of the City, either in Garrison, Martha’s Vineyard or Europe. They also travel both domestically and internationally during most of the school breaks, so candidates must be willing and excited to joint them.
Responsibilities
- Primary care will be for the toddler for at least the first six months after baby arrives, since they will have a baby nurse. The candidate will then transition to caring for both children.
- Responsibilities will include: meal prep and light housekeeping related to the children, helping with household/nursery/bedroom organization, keeping children's supplies stocked, planning enriching activities for their toddler and maintaining the children's routines, including school pick-up etc.
Qualifications
- An educational background in Child Development, ECE or other related field
- Be knowledgeable of all developmental milestones
- Be developmentally savvy, energetic and have experience caring for both an infant and pre-school age child in tandem
- Have flexibility for overnights and spending summers upstate/ abroad (when upstate candidates may return home at weekends)
- Ideally long-term, positive and verifiable references
Requirements
- Work seamlessly and harmoniously with the parents
- Be comfortable working alongside a full-time housekeeper
- Candidates should be sophisticated, warm and generally easy to be around
- The ability to read the room is key - high EQ is valued in this household
- Open communication is very important to the parents - conflict resolution is something they believe can be easily achieved with open discussions/ transparent communication
- Be dog friendly - breed is a Golden Retriever (care not required)
- Be COVID vaccinated and CPR certified
- Have a clean driving record and current driving license
- The ability to swim is desired but not required
- US passport, Green Card or EAC
- Be passport ready and willing to travel both domestically and internationally
- Be available to start ASAP
Salary and Benefits
- $45 /hr monthly stipend for insurance ($400-$600/month)
- All industry standard benefits
- Overtime as standard
- Additional overnight rate for all overnights (both domestic and and international)
