Overview
A lovely family in Dallas, TX are seeking a Governess/Nanny for their two young children, ages 2-years and 3-years old to begin as soon as they find the right candidate. The general schedule will be Monday through Friday, 8:30am-5:30pm, with a 1-hour break, for a total of 40 hours guaranteed, with the potential for more hours if the candidate desires or down the line as the children get older. The family is looking for someone who is organized, professional, flexible, open minded, and has a good understanding of teaching at this age and above, including a lot of sensory hands-on fun and play during learning, as well as a set curriculum that is developmentally appropriate. The family is open to live-in, or live-out, and is open to relocating the right candidate if interested in the live-in option. The position will also include travel, so flexibility and availability to travel is important.
Responsibilities
- Overall care of the children including basic care needs like dressing, feeding, and playing
- Help children reach developmental and educational milestones
- Transport children to outings and activities when needed
- Begin home schooling the children with a starter curriculum, including learning through play. Create the beginning structure of a consistent “learning time,” while also following the children’s needs of play, meals, naps, and daily routine
- Teach with a focus on healthy brain development
- Help foster emotional intelligence, teaching coping skills to handle big emotions
- Teach manners throughout the day
- Knowledge of age-appropriate curriculum, and ability to create a daily routine where the children can grow and flourish
- Healthy meal prep for the kids, snacks, and simple meals
- Traveling with the family when needed and creating enrichment through travel, while also maintaining a consistent routine

Requirements
- Degree in Early Childhood Education or other comparable qualifications
- Certifications in either Montessori/Waldorf/Reggio Emilia or the like
- A second language is ideal
- Musical background or knowledge is ideal - guitar, piano, violin, or percussion players are a musical preference
- Ability to travel, domestically and occasionally internationally
- Valid Driver’s License and clean driving record - car can be provided
- Ability to swim, or at the very least feel comfortable/confident in the water with the children
- Comfortable around pets - the family has one small dog
- CPR and First Aid Certified, or willing to certify
Salary and Benefits
Hourly rate depends on experience and ranges from $40-$45 gross
