Overview
A wonderful family located on the Upper East Side of Manhattan, NY is seeking a full-time housekeeper to start ASAP. The role is live-out when in the city, and live-in when in the Hamptons for the summers. The general schedule for the main part of the year (September through mid June) will be Monday through Friday, 12pm-8pm, for a guaranteed 40 hours per week, with some flexibility for shifting Fridays to 2pm-10pm when/if they entertain. This will happen a few times per month. The schedule for the Summer (mid June-August) will be Friday through Tuesday, with Friday-Sunday/Monday at their residence in the Hamptons, and Monday/Tuesday back in the city. Your days off during the Summer will be Wednesday/Thursday. The family keeps a Kosher home, and asks that you respect those guidelines, but are more than happy to teach you how to help maintain a Kosher home if you are not familiar with it. The family also has two older kids, ages 12-years and 14-years-old. You will not be responsible for the kids, but the family does ask that you like kids and are able to have a positive relationship with them.
Responsibilities
- Overall housekeeping, cleaning, and tidying of the 2200 Sq Ft home; 3-bedrooms, 3-bathrooms
- Laundry- treating delicate clothing and handling ironing as needed
- Washing the linens, ironing as needed, and making the beds
- Keeping track of household stock and inventory and replace when needed
- Grocery shop, or order groceries, and light meal prep
- Cooking dinners for the kids in the evening, nothing fancy, simple meals
- Noticing and notifying the family of any needed repairs around the home
- Event prep like making sure the house is cleaned for events and helping with set up
- Helping the chef when the family hosts dinners (basic food prep, serving drinks)
- Be in the home when the kids are home
- Occasionally pick up the 12 year old
Adhering to and helping maintain a Kosher home: two sets of dishes/pots and pans, candidate would need to be comfortable navigating that.

- Takes direction easily, but can also take initiative and anticipate the family’s needs
- Flexible
- Having a valid Driver's license is a plus, but not a requirement
- The ability to speak Spanish is a plus, but not a requirement
Requirements
- At least 5 years experience as a housekeeper
- Must be okay around kids
- Must have a US Passport, Green Card, or EAC
- Must be able to maintain the rules of a Kosher home
Salary and Benefits
- Hourly rate is $35-$40 and depends on experience
- Standard benefits of 2 weeks vacation, 3-5 sick days, and holidays offered
- Live-in accommodations for the Hamptons would be own room with bathroom en suite. Travel to and from Hamptons will be paid for.
