Overview
A fun-loving couple is looking for a long-term, French-speaking, full-time, live-out nanny, in the West Village area of NYC. The role starts as soon as possible. The nanny must speak French (ideally European-French). Relocation is not being offered at this time- only local candidates will be considered. The family includes the mother, father, and 14-month-old baby girl. They have one dog. Other staff includes a housekeeper.
This person must have significant experience caring for newborn through elementary-age children in a private residence. Experience must include food transitions, sleep training, and knowledge of developmental milestones. The nanny should be engaging with the child and nurturing their growth while guiding the first time parents yet accepting what the parents want. To be successful in this role, you must be active, fun, funny, personable, easy going, vivacious, and a great communicator. The parents want to maintain a happy home. Ideally also someone festive, as they are very into the holidays.
Hours will ideally be Monday through Friday, 8am-6pm, with flexibility to work late at least two nights per week, and the occasional weekend. Overtime will be paid. The family is offering a monthly medical stipend, PTO, paid sick/personal days, main federal holidays paid, and a yearly holiday bonus. Having a valid driver's license is a bonus. This person must know how to swim.
The nanny must have their valid U.S. Passport and must be willing and able to travel domestically and internationally without restriction. They summer 1-2 months at their home upstate. The live-in accommodation there is a private bedroom/bathroom. There will also be other travel, including internationally, several times per year. Current trips planned for this year include Korea, Switzerland, Milan, and Positano. The nanny must be COVID, TDAP, and Flu vaccinated. The salary range is $35-$40/hour, contingent on experience.
