Responsibilities:
- British Swim School's Aquatics Safety Instructors teach critical life-saving skills to swimmers ages 3-months and up, ensuring they have the skills needed to survive accidents in and around water. Once those swimmers are deemed "Safer Swimmers", the same instructors continue to utilize British Swim School's proven and gentle teaching methods to teach the 4-basic swim strokes, until the swimmers are "Safer, Stronger Swimmers".
- Aquatics Instructors reports directly to and supports the Aquatics Manager.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include evenings (3pm-7pm) and weekends (10am -4pm), as required by business needs.
- Work in an environment where noise levels are expected to be moderate to high.
- Be fully in the water (to include submerging) and wet for the duration of the shift (bathroom and lunch breaks being exceptions).
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma, equivalent, or in the process of completion.
- Enthusiastic personality.
- Successful completion of all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.
- Lots of energy and a positive attitude.
- Passion for working with kids!
- 1-year customer service experience desired but not required.
The Position:
At British Swim School, we teach fun, engaging water survival and swim lessons, but that’s not all! We are a team of fun-loving people who are serious about saving lives and having fun while doing it!
As an aquatics instructor, you will be provided the necessary training to teach swim lessons to children 3 months-old through adults, utilizing the gentle, fun, and progressive British Swim School aquatics program . You will be assigned to a class schedule developed by manager(s) and interact with swimmers, and parents and/or guardians. Most importantly, you'll arm swimmers of all ages with the life-saving skills and confidence needed to protect themselves and help reduce one of the highest causes of death in the United States.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $17.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 20 per week
