Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Swim Instructor to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for teaching and a strong background in swimming and physical education. As a Swim Instructor, you will be responsible for providing high-quality swim instruction to students of all ages and skill levels, ensuring a safe and enjoyable learning environment. Your expertise in behavior management and experience working with students will contribute to the development of their swimming skills and confidence in the water.
Duties
- Support the Aquatics Leader and/or Business Owner(s)
- Follow British Swim School's curriculum to ensure safe and competent lessons and environment.
- Monitor students' progress and provide constructive feedback to enhance their skills.
- Ensure the safety of all participants by enforcing pool rules and maintaining a vigilant presence during lessons.
- Foster a positive learning environment that encourages student engagement and enjoyment of swimming.
- Work evenings (4pm-8pm), weekends (8am- 2pm), and holidays as required by business needs.
- Maintain certifications throughout employment.
- Work in an environment where noise levels are usually moderate to high and stand in the water for up to 5 consecutive hours.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to promote swim programs and events.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the pool area and equipment.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a swim instructor or in a related role is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of swimming techniques, safety protocols, and behavior management strategies.
- Experience working with students in educational or recreational settings is highly desirable.
- Background in physical education, childcare, martial arts, or similar fields is a plus.
- Ability to communicate effectively with students, parents, and staff.
- Must maintain certifications throughout the length of employment.
- Must have Lifeguarding/First Aid/CPR Certification(s) or willing to obtain certification upon hire.
- Must complete all required British Swim School Aquatics-specific training and testing.
- A passion for teaching swimming and promoting water safety among participants.

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $14.00 - $17.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 – 15 per week
