ROLE POSITIONING AND OBJECTIVES
This role is part of Procurement
The role is responsible for This position is responsible for the end-to-end Procurement process within the assigned area of responsibility,
which includes buying responsibility for goods and services up to $300k. This may include the sourcing and
management of a vast array of categories and commodities for one or more of the RAI operating companies.
RJRT performs procurement under a service agreement for all RAI affiliate companies.
Reports to: Senior Manager Procurement

WHAT YOU WILL BE ACCOUNTABLE FOR
- Lead procurement cross-functional teams by coordinating all business activities to achieve purchase decisions which deliver the highest quality, reliability, and value to meet RJRT requirements.
- Develop, advocate and implement sourcing and negotiation strategies for key spend areas to achieve short and long-term savings targets.
- Develop and maintain category profiles (demand & supply profile, SWOT, key stakeholders list, cost model, etc.).
- Benchmark category performance against external data and best practices
- Maintain metrics for process improvement, supplier management and management reporting.
- Implement performance guarantee contracts to minimize RJRT risk and increase supplier accountability for non-performance.
- Lead process improvements initiatives that support the Supply Chain Management (SCM) vision.
- Develop, manage and maintain strategic supplier relationships which provide a competitive advantage.
CAN THIS BE YOUR FUTURE ROLE?
- Do you have recent experience in any/all of these systems: SAP, Coupa, iCertis?
- Do you have Indirect Procurement experience (indirect materials and/or services)? Have you worked directly in a marketing environment or have you supported marketing from a procurement or project management perspective?
- Do you have experience negotiating contracts/pricing agreements?
ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE, SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
- Minimum 6 years relevant experience or equivalent education and experience
- Experience in project management and leading cross-functional teams
- Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to manage projects
- Demonstrated ability to build effective teams, foster collaboration across teams, resolve conflict, provide direction, and give feedback
- Ability to independently assess, define and solve complex supply chain and procurement issues.
- Broad understanding of procurement categories and/or commodities
- High School Diploma or equivalent and 10 years of relevant work experience Or Associate Degree in Business or related field and 8 years relevant work experience Or Bachelor’s Degree and 4 years relevant work experience
BENEFICIAL
- Procurement experience, particularly Indirect Procurement experience (ex. Marketing services)
- Experience with contract negotiation and pricing agreements
- Knowledge of and/or experience working in a regulated environment
