Job Description
We are seeking a Family Medicine Physician Assistant to join our practice in Worcester, MA as a primary care provider and APP Trainer.
The APP Trainer will work in a hybrid role that includes training newly hired Advanced Practice Providers while also providing medical services for patients.
This is a full-time role that involves 20 hours of direct patient care and 20 hours of APP support, training, education, and professional development.
Training Responsibilities
- Train one to two new Advanced Practice Providers (APP) defined as a nurse practitioner or physician assistant who has been hired in the last two years.
- Review all new-hire APP charts for the first month of their employment.
- Continue to review a pre-determined number of approximately ten APP charts monthly.
Primary Care Responsibilities
- Provide medical care to patients with acute medical problems, chronic illnesses, or requesting preventive health services.
- Examine patients, formulate diagnostic plans, and order diagnostic testing.
- Interpret examination findings and test results and implement treatment plans.
- Perform procedures within the scope of reproductive/pregnancy health including IUD and Nexplanon insertions and removals, cervical examinations, and prenatal care.
Collaboration and Support
Our clinical teams are comprised of family physicians, internists, pediatricians, and advanced practitioners working together under one roof.
We also have medical interpreters on site and utilize telephonic interpreters as needed.
