Job Summary
A progressive rural healthcare organization seeks a board-certified family medicine physician to deliver high-quality patient care and participate in quality improvement initiatives. Essential Duties
- Deliver comprehensive outpatient care, including health examinations, treatment of medical conditions, and follow-up on detected problems.
- Manage acute and chronic illnesses through coordinated care plans, when necessary, with behavioral health providers.
- Making appropriate referrals to internal disciplines or external resources for additional services required.
- Prescribe medications for patients as indicated.
- Provide clinical consultation to other providers as needed.
- Oversee mid-level providers and medical students responsible for providing medical services.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and clear medical record documentation.
- Follow up with clinical support staff regarding test results and other communications.
- Communicate effectively with patients, guardians, and employees.
- Participate in an on-call system for after-hours care and inpatient population management, as assigned.
Qualifications
- Fully licensed to practice medicine in Kansas and/or Oklahoma.
- Graduation from an accredited medical school.
- Completion of residency in the appropriate specialty.
- Board certification in the relevant specialty.
- A strong community/public health orientation, preferred.
- Commitment to serving the underserved.
