Job Overview:

We are seeking a reliable and motivated Delivery Truck Driver (CDL not required) to join our team at Britton Lumber. In this role, you will be responsible for transporting building materials from our lumber yard to local job sites and customer locations. The ideal candidate will have a strong work ethic, attention to safety, and a commitment to delivering excellent service to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Safely operate a truck to transport building materials, including lumber, hardware, and other construction supplies, to local job sites and customer locations.
• Ensure the truck is properly loaded and unloaded, securing materials to prevent damage during transit.
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safe operating conditions.
• Follow all traffic laws, safety regulations, and company procedures.
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, including times, destinations, and any issues encountered during transport.
• Assist with unloading materials at customer sites when necessary.
• Communicate effectively with customers and yard staff regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Maintain the cleanliness and basic maintenance of the truck, ensuring it remains in good working condition.
• Provide exceptional customer service, including answering questions and ensuring satisfaction with deliveries.
• Assist with yard duties such as inventory organization or material handling when not on a delivery route.

Qualifications:

• Must have a valid driver's license (CDL not required).
• Prior truck driving experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to lift heavy materials and assist with loading/unloading.
• Strong attention to safety protocols and procedures.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to heavy materials regularly.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
