About the Role: Join Us as a Finance Manager! Are you a highly skilled financial professional with a passion for accuracy, process improvement, and leadership? Join us as a Finance Manager, where you will oversee all accounting and financial functions while driving internal controls, budgeting, and compliance. Your expertise will play a critical role in ensuring the financial health of our organization and supporting our leadership with timely and accurate reporting.



Responsibilities:


  • Manage Financial Systems & Internal Controls: Oversee financial processes, including monthly bank reconciliations, merchant accounts, and PCI compliance reporting.

  • Ensure Accurate Reporting & Compliance: Perform month-end close, prepare journal entries, reconcile subsidiary ledgers, and manage fixed asset records.

  • Oversee Title IV & Financial Aid Reporting: Reconcile Title IV expenditures, complete required Department of Education reports, and ensure compliance with federal financial aid processes.

  • Prepare & Present Financial Reports: Develop monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for leadership and the Board of Directors, ensuring accuracy and clarity.

  • Lead Budgeting & Forecasting: Collaborate with functional areas to develop the annual budget and prepare supporting documentation for management and the Board.

  • Support Strategic Planning: Contribute financial analysis and projections to the organization's strategic plan and work closely with leadership to align financial goals.

  • Manage Investments & Tax Reporting: Oversee money market and trust accounts, file annual corporate tax returns, and ensure 1098-T forms are prepared and filed accurately.

  • Coordinate External Audits: Serve as the primary contact for external auditors and ensure the organization complies with all federal, state, and local regulations.

  • Oversee Scholarships & HR Functions: Manage the organization's scholarship program and support HR functions such as payroll, benefits administration, and 401k compliance.

  • Lead & Develop Accounting Staff: Recruit, hire, and train staff, conduct performance evaluations, and serve as a backup for essential functions when necessary.







Qualifications:


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration (required)

  • 8 years of related experience

  • 3 years of experience in a supervisory role

  • 1 year of experience in fixed assets

  • CPA (preferred)

  • Strong experience with accounting and tax preparation software, Microsoft Office Suite, and general technology applications.

  • Strong understanding of GAAP, budgeting, financial reporting, and internal controls.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with the ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a dynamic educational environment.

  • A strong focus on accuracy and quality while balancing multiple priorities.

  • Experience in a nonprofit or educational institution is a plus.
