Job Overview
We are seeking a Data Scientist to tackle analytical projects while championing our nascent data science initiative. The ideal candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in a STEM field, possess a strong background in data analysis, machine learning, and statistical modeling, and be able to provide evidence, such as a portfolio of past projects. They will be a curious autodidact who needs little direction but can accept it graciously when provided. They will creatively use data, research, and modeling to meet deadlines while navigating unstructured composite datasets and considering feedback from many users. They will clearly communicate with all audiences in this very visible, interdepartmental role.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify opportunities to apply statistical analysis and machine learning to achieve optimal outcomes in real-world problems in commercial real estate.
- Acquire, mine, and analyze terabytes of on-premises and third-party data, both locally and using cluster computing.
- Assess the effectiveness and accuracy of new data sources.
- Communicate clearly and in an approachable manner with non-experts.
- Take end-to-end ownership of projects, scope them, and meet deadlines.
- Adapt quickly to changing demands and tools.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM field (REQUIRED).
- Proven experience as a Data Scientist, with evidence such as a portfolio (REQUIRED).
- Experience with the fundamentals of data ETL.
- Experience with the fundamentals of T-SQL and Python, and/or the ability to learn R, PySpark, and other languages as needed.
- Experience with the Azure ecosystem, such as DevOps/Git, Databricks, and Power BI.
- The ability to tailor communication to your audience, from high-tech professionals to general users.
- A team player who can collaborate but also spend long stretches of time coding independently.
- Experience with good cybersecurity practices and ethical data standards.
- Experience or interest in learning generative AI
