Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will focus on upgrading and optimizing existing data pipelines, building new applications powered by generative AI systems, and ensuring the seamless flow and accessibility of data across our organization. You will work closely with business users to understand their requirements and deliver solutions that drive data-driven decision-making. This position requires proficiency in SQL and Python, familiarity with Azure tools and Microsoft Fabric and a foundational understanding of machine learning.
Key Responsibilities
- Upgrade, optimize, and maintain existing data pipelines to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
- Design and manage data workflows using tools such as Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks, Azure Functions, and SQL Server Management Studio.
- Create and maintain documentation for data pipelines, workflows, and applications.
- Build new automations and reports by leveraging generative AI systems to enhance analysis and decision-making.
- Work closely with business users to understand requirements, communicate effectively, and deliver tailored data solutions.
- Ensure data integrity, security, and accessibility across all systems.
- Collaborate with Director, Data Science to apply an understanding of machine learning concepts to support ML-driven applications
- Understand requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Implement best practices around cybersecurity to safeguard data and systems.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree or higher in Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
- Experience: At least 1 years of experience in a similar role.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL and Python.
- Experience working with APIs.
- Hands-on experience with Azure Data Factory, Azure Databricks (PySpark and Spark SQL), and SQL Server Management Studio, or similar tools.
- Foundational understanding of machine learning concepts and their applications.
- Familiarity with basic data wrangling principals and techniques.
- Experience working with generative AI LLMs such as OpenAI, Claude, and Llama.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with business users and stakeholders.
- Experience within the Commercial Real Estate industry is a plus.
