The Broad Institute is looking for an exceptional candidate for a Research Assistant I position in the Hacohen and Blainey groups. This position affords the exciting opportunity to contribute to studies to understand the cellular and molecular drivers of sepsis in patients and mouse models. The candidate should have skills in experimental biology. Characteristic Duties: Develop mouse models of sepsis and study the roles of specific cells and molecules in sepsis Work closely with a team to design and execute studies of host responses to infection in human patients Work across a collaborative group of scientists, clinicians and computationalists across Broad and local hospitals Qualifications: B.A. or masters degree in biology, cellular biology, bioengineering or a related discipline Potential to design and execute experiments independently, and effectively interpret experimental data. Previous experience in a collaborative team environment ideal. Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with all levels of staff and with internal departmental contacts, as well as external collaborators Experience with basic molecular biology techniques and biochemical assays
