The Internal Communications Manager partners with the Broad Institute's administrative and scientific groups to develop communications strategy and content for internal channels. Reporting to the Director of Institutional Communications, and working with Administration leaders, key operational counterparts, and others at Broad, this individual plays a key role in how communications contribute to and support institutional priorities.
The Internal Communications Manager serves as an individual contributor to develop campaigns and other materials, and works closely with the Director of Institutional Communications and the Internal Communications Specialist, serving as a key contributor to the overall internal communications strategy in a fast-paced, multifunctional communications team.
Duties include :
- Leads, develops, and executes strategic internal communications programs that align with Broad's mission, as well as shape employee engagement and culture.
- Serves as a thought partner and tactical leader to the Director of Institutional Communications and other key Broad Institute leaders to advise, develop, and drive effective, innovative, internal communications based on audience needs.
- Coordinates with the Director regarding internal communications priorities. Make recommendations to help guide strategy and workflow.
- Works closely with other teams across the Office of Communications to coordinate campaigns and deliverables.
- Builds and cultivates relationships with key stakeholders and groups across Broad Administration, serving as a primary point of contact for Communications. This work includes help strategizing, creating, and publicizing content and announcements as needed.
Works with the Internal Communications Specialist and other Communications team members to solicit and write weekly newsletter administrative blurbs and other content as needed.
Curates and creates new landing page content to ensure timeliness, relevance, and alignment with institutional priorities.
Partners with administrative groups on communications related to organizational structure, simplifying navigation to information, change management, and culture activation.
Creates and oversees projects that improve or expand the Broad Institute's internal communications mechanisms; serves as part of the group tasked with determining ways to improve Broadie access to information.
