Job Summary
The HR Manager is responsible for leading all human resources functions of the electric motor manufacturing plant, including recruitment, employee relations, performance management, training & development, compliance, and workplace culture.
This role ensures the plant operates efficiently by fostering a productive workforce while aligning HR strategies with business goals.
This position will be on-site in Plainfield, Indiana
Key Responsibilities
Talent Acquisition & Workforce Planning
- Develop and execute hiring strategies to meet production demands.
- Partner with department heads to identify staffing needs and skills gaps.
- Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and retention of skilled workers (engineers, technicians, production workers).
- Collaborate with technical schools and training institutions for talent pipeline
Employee Relations & Workplace Culture
- Foster a positive work environment by addressing employee concerns and resolving conflicts.
- Implement employee engagement programs to improve morale and productivity.
- Act as a liaison between employees and management to maintain transparent communication.
- Oversee grievance handling and disciplinary actions in line with labor laws.
Compliance & Labor Laws
- Ensure compliance with local labor laws, safety regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain accurate employee records for audits and regulatory requirements.
- Partner with legal teams to mitigate risks related to employment laws.
Training & Development
- Develop training programs for upskilling employees in motor manufacturing technologies, lean manufacturing, and quality control.
- Ensure compliance with health & safety training (OSHA, ISO 9001, etc.).
- Implement leadership development programs for supervisors and managers.
Compensation & Benefits
- Oversee payroll processing in collaboration with the finance team.
- Manage benefits programs, including health insurance, retirement plans, and incentives.
- Benchmark industry salary standards to maintain competitive compensation structures.
Performance Management & HR Metrics
- Implement performance appraisal systems and provide feedback mechanisms.
- Track key HR metrics (turnover rate, absenteeism, employee satisfaction).
- Drive initiatives to improve workforce productivity and efficiency.
HR Strategy & Business Support
- Align HR policies with the company's growth objectives and operational needs.
- Work with leadership to plan workforce scalability in response to business fluctuations.
- Lead HR digitalization efforts, including HRIS implementation and data-driven decision-making.
Administrative Management

Office Administration:
- Oversee general office operations, including office supplies, documentation, and logistics.
- Ensure proper filing and documentation of employee and company records.

Facility & Infrastructure Management:
- Ensure the plant's office spaces, meeting rooms, and common areas are well-maintained.
- Coordinate with maintenance teams for facility repairs and improvements.

Procurement & Vendor Management:
- Manage office supply procurement and ensure cost-effective purchasing.
- Liaise with vendors, contractors, and service providers for administrative needs.

Travel & Transportation:
- Oversee travel arrangements for employees, including accommodation and transportation.
- Manage company-provided vehicles and ensure proper utilization and maintenance.

Security & Safety Compliance:
- Ensure security measures are in place for employees and plant property.
- Work closely with safety officers to enforce workplace safety regulations.
Qualifications & Skills
- Education: Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or a related field (Master's preferred).
- Experience: 5 years of HR management experience in a manufacturing/industrial setting (preferably in electric motor production or related industries).

- Experience with HRIS and payroll systems.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing and continuous improvement processes.

Preferred Experience
- Previous HR leadership experience in an automotive, electrical equipment, or industrial manufacturing environment.
- Experience in union/non-union workforce management.
- Certification in HR (e.g., SHRM-CP, PHR).
