AT A GLANCE:
The Associate Director of People Operations is a critical position in the People Department (PD) reporting to the Senior Director of People. The Associate Director of People Operations is responsible for developing, leading, and elevating a team of People experts in specialized areas such as People Operations, Safety & Compliance, and Total Rewards.
ROLE & RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Facilitate and create a progressive, department-wide strategy for People Operations YOY.
· Provide employee relations support by coaching and counseling senior leaders on work-related issues while interpreting and applying organizational policies.
· Partner with People team members to develop the PD’s Standards of Practice.
· Supervise and modify on an ongoing basis policies, procedures, and other guidance documents, including incorporating best practices, handbook rewrites, and addressing changes in employment law regulations, and industry practices.
· Collaborate with the leadership team to ensure all departmental policies are protected and implemented effectively and equitably.
· Participate in internal committees, work groups, and special projects as requested and/or assigned.
· Partner with the leadership team, external support, other staff, and/or legal counsel to resolve employee issues fairly, consistently, and expeditiously.
· Ensure leadership is trained in the annual performance review process, and all employees receive timely feedback.
· Manage the ongoing creation and delivery of People Operations’ team projects, facilitating change management, and assessing progress and blockers as they come about.
· Advise leadership on how to craft accurate job descriptions and provide direction on value-based job-grading.
· Supervise the selection of the benefits package for employees, ensuring high return on investment by selecting plans, vendor partners, and ensuring that benefits meet employee needs.
· Administer all organizational occupational health, safety, and security programs including workers compensation, OSHA standards training and reporting compliance, disaster preparedness, and contingency plans.
· Partner with Learning & Development to ensure appropriate end user training for compliance related topics.
· Collaborate with HRIS around any system integrations and UATs.
· Formulate and drive the PD analytics strategy and delivery.
· Identify opportunities for automation and reduction of manual processes and partner with other People team members along with IT/BI on implementation of solutions.
· Perform regular business process reviews with key leaders.
· Prepare and analyze quarterly reports based on key performance indicators for the People Department. Make recommendations and act based on data.
· Support the People & Culture experience through efforts by consistently reviewing policies and procedures, seeking input on topics from a broad audience, and ensuring that equity conversations move forward, and that measurable action is taken.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED:
· Serves on the Organizational Senior Leadership Team.
· Supervise 3- 5 direct reports overseeing a team of up to 20.
· Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business, or related field plus 7-10 years of experience in a leadership role.
· SHRM or PHR certification preferred but not required.
· Excellent follow-through and attention to detail, with the ability to track and manage multiple critical initiatives.
· Experience managing a team, including other HR professionals.
· Poise, confidentiality, and discretion required.
· Proficiency with Office365, applicant tracking systems (ATS), HRIS, onboarding, and performance management tools.
· Strong cognitive skills required; including the ability to learn quickly, handle multiple complex tasks simultaneously and be highly productive with little supervision.
· Experience leading diverse project teams to successful outcomes.
· Strong communication, executive presentation, and facilitation skills.
· Strong computer skills including advanced knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
· Self-motivated, ambitious, problem solver, who is flexible and adaptive to change.
· High degree of attention to detail and able to handle multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Strong knowledge of FLSA, Title VII of CRA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, ACA, FMLA, 5500 filings, and other applicable state and federal regulations.
· Ability to perform additional functions that may be assigned at the discretion of the Senior Director, People.
