The Broadband Technician will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fiber optic networks for residential and commercial customers. This role includes drop bury installations, fiber splicing, and troubleshooting connectivity issues for TV, internet, and phone services.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform drop bury installations, including trenching and placing fiber or coaxial cables underground.
- Install and activate fiber optic and coaxial services for TV, internet, and phone.
- Troubleshoot and repair connectivity issues to ensure top-quality service.
- Splice and terminate fiber optic cables as needed.
- Test and certify installations using proper diagnostic tools.
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, industry regulations, and company policies.
- Maintain detailed documentation of work completed.
- Provide excellent customer service, educating customers on their services and equipment.
Qualifications & Skills
Experience in broadband, fiber optics, or telecommunications installations (preferred).
Knowledge of drop bury installation methods and fiber splicing techniques.
Ability to operate trenching tools and other relevant equipment.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
Ability to lift up to 75 lbs, work outdoors, and in varying weather conditions.
Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Job Type: Contract
Pay: $20.70 - $21.96 per hour
Expected hours: 40 per week
