What are the responsibilities and job description for the Fiber Splicer position at Broadband of Indiana, LLC?
Broadband of Indiana, LLC (BOI) is a telecommunication company. We install and maintain the lines and cables used by network communications companies. Currently, we are looking for an in-house Fiber Splicer to work in Cleveland, TN area.
Responsibilities
· Perform fusion splicing of fiber optic cables (loose tube), as well as terminating various types of connectors.
· Skills in different wavelengths, as well as experienced in DWDM & CWDM Equipment.
· Ability to test pressurized enclosures.
· Dress fiber optic cables.
· Test and troubleshoot fiber, with the knowledge of using OTDR.
· Maintaining and understanding fiber documents.
· Perform any task required or assigned in a timely manner.
Qualifications
· 2 years of experience
· Valid Driver’s License
· Knowledge of computers and electronics
· Steady hand-eye coordination.
· Capable of distinguishing colors.
· Fluent in OSHA, NESC, NEC and other similar construction guidelines.
· Able and willing to train and support the development of others.
This job position is in a field setting. Most jobs will be performed in the surrounding areas of Cleveland, TN. Some occasional overnight travel may occur. It may demand lengthy periods of standing, climbing, squatting, kneeling, pushing/pulling, bending, twisting, and lifting, possibly in awkward positions. When working in the field, weather conditions, such as extreme cold or heat, rain, snow, ice and wind should be expected.
Background check, pre-employment drug screening and MVR will be run on Candidate.
