Broadcast Management Group (BMG) is seeking a Broadcast Design Engineering (BDE) position to support BMG coast to coast. This position will report to BMG’s Sr. Vice President of Technology. The BDE engineer will work on system proposals, design systems, maintain and troubleshoot broadcast equipment, assist with integration projects, and work on remote production assignments as needed. We are looking for a well-rounded BDE who can assist in creating equipment lists, engineering signal flow synoptic diagrams and rack elevations. A complete understanding of broadcast and IT network technology is essential. The ideal candidate will also be able to serve as an engineer in charge of productions, both with Flypack, OB trucks and REMI systems. We are looking for someone who is actively engaging with the designs they contribute to and possesses the ability to adapt them for the future. Working independently at a high level is a requirement. This position will assist the SVP of Technology with BMG projects such as planned system upgrades, new facility design, equipment maintenance, and consult on future technical expansion for internal and external clients.
Responsibilities:
• Manage integration projects of both small and large scale.
• Create equipment lists and conceptual drawings, and estimate labor and P&M costs for system proposals.
• Create, read, understand and develop broadcast engineering AutoCAD design drawings.
• Able to terminate video, audio, control and network cables.
• Work independently or with external vendors on integration projects, equipment commissioning, and training.
• Able to positively interface with clients and install teams.
• Assist with planned system upgrades and expansion of projects.
• Perform customer equipment maintenance as needed, occasionally working outside of regular business work hours
Scheduled Hours/Days:
• All employees are expected to work 50 hours work week, 10 hours a day.
• Must be flexible on dates due to production demands; this may include weekends. Scheduled workdays can vary, and any approved hours over 50 for the week will be used a comp time.
Requirements:
• Minimum of 5 years of broadcast systems design experience
• Knowledge of live and REMI production environments
• Understanding of system integration techniques, project schedules, and project budgets
• Strong knowledge of IP Video, Dante and REMI systems
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently
• Understanding of cloud production
• Ability to work late shifts and weekends as needed
• Ability to travel for project-based assignments as needed
• AutoCAD Certified or equivalent software.

Salary : $95,000 - $115,000
