What are the responsibilities and job description for the Analyst, Work Registration Quality Assurance (Hybrid) position at Broadcast Music, Inc?
POSITION SUMMARY
Performs activities aimed at ensuring the accuracy and completeness of inputs into BMI Works database. Reviews titles processed by work registration processors to ensure quality. Assists managers with the review of various distribution audit reports.
FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB
Essential Functions: which may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Completes audit and research analysis on processed registrations to ensure complete and accurate.
- Assists manager with review of var io us ad-hock reports to ensure repertoire accuracy for distributions.
- Develops, coordinates and executes detailed QA for works registration based on the department’s methodology and standards.
- Identifies trends and patterns with work registration processing errors and suggest training opportunities or policy updates.
- Performs varied analysis around audit results. Reports common errors to suggest clear or new policies are in place to ensure processing consistencies.
- Creates basic queries utilizing SQL, through tools such as TOAD or IBM Cognos to research registration processing accuracy.
- Performs in depth quality assurance for the purpose of identifying potential issues, and determines appropriate course of action.
- Serves on special projects on an as needed basis.
- Processes works registrations/work revisions.
- Maintains knowledge of current industry trends relevant to BMI’s business.
- Regular attendance.
- Other duties as assigned.

POSITION QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
Education: Bachelor’s Degree required w/ background in Music Business and/or experience in audit.
Experience: Minimum 2 years of relevant experience with Royalties, Music Publishing or related skills.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Skills and abilities may be representative but not all inclusive of those commonly associated with this position.
- Advanced-level proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and general proficiency with other Microsoft Office Suite applications.
- Knowledge or working experience with data mining/BI tools a plus (i.e. TOAD, COGNOs).
- SQL experience a plus.
- Analytical, creative, and innovative approach to problem solving.
- Strong communication skills both verbally and written.
- Ability to present ideas in an easy to understand and engaging manner.
- Ability to write business correspondence.
- Ability to help in project management tasks, with an emphasis on organizational skills.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, as well as the MS Windows Operating System.
- Ability to establish good working relationships with co-workers, personnel in other departments and affiliates
- Ability to manage multiple projects.
SALARY RANGE
The specific base salary offered to a successful applicant will be based on individual qualifications, skills, experience, and education. The pay range is subject to change at any time based on various internal and external factors. The position may also be eligible for one or more performance-based bonuses.
