The total duration of our projects is typically 4-6 months, allowing for participation in a wide range of projects and facility types. We currently focus our expertise on healthcare, higher education, federal / state / local government, and urban downtown and campus planning projects. Our most recent higher education projects have included expansion planning for TAMU’s Olsen Field at Blue Bell Park and an update to the Tarleton State Fort Worth Campus Master Plan. Our recent healthcare projects have included planning for a Behavioral Health Hospital in Midland/Odessa, design phase management on several Baylor, Scott, and White facilities, and clinical planning advisory services for a new UT Hospital to serve the UT Dell Medical School. Our most recent federal, state, and local projects include county judicial courthouse and government centers, state run juvenile justice detention facilities, a federal courthouse, a new State records and archive facility, and a land port of entry. Description of Position at Broaddus Planning:
Within Broaddus Planning a Facilities Planner will have the opportunity for advancement to a senior leadership and executive leadership positions. We are looking for an individual with a degree in architecture or the equivalent, specifically for the development of facility planning projects. This individual will fulfill the role of the facility planner under the guidance of a senior facility planner. We want to mentor you and assist you with your professional development as a facility planner. This position is expected to be self-reliant and a self-starter as it relates to work assignments. Project duties will include direct client interaction, functional and condition assessment of facilities, development of project needs and schedule, assisting the client with priorities and balancing the needs within budget constraints, developing site and building conceptual ideas and drawings, room criteria, and documenting all findings.
Involvement within professional organizations and networking with clients, consultants and peers is expected to develop and maintain a professional network of relationships for business development opportunities and professional leadership opportunities.
Reports to: Managing Principal of Broaddus Planning
Location: Looking for candidates that are currently living in or willing to relocate to one of the following cities in Texas: Houston, Austin, or Dallas-Fort Worth.
Qualifications:
· A bachelor’s in architecture, or related field / master’s degree preferred
· Strong resume with healthcare and/or higher education planning and facility programming
· Applicants must be authorized to work for any employer in the United States. We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment Visa currently.
· 3 years or more of professional experience
· Excellent writing, communication, and interpersonal skills
· Ability to travel domestically
· Ability to work in a fast-paced environment since our deadlines are typically short-term
· Leadership skills / Strong organizational skills / Strong analytical skills
· Expertise in AutoCAD, Sketch Up, MS Project, InDesign and MS Office Applications is desirable
· Thorough working knowledge in architectural planning, or other planning-related fields
· AIA, RA, RLA, LEED professional certifications desired

Responsibilities:
· Working in a collaborative setting with supporting skills of urban planners, demographers, traffic engineers, civil / MEP engineers, architects, and other consulting team specialists as required for the project engagement.
· Participates within Broaddus Planning, in concert with the Managing Principal and other firm leaders, in developing client relationships, project opportunities and strategic business objectives related to growth and development of the firm planning services.
· Supports the main point of contact with clients, internal and external teams and contributes to the overall success of various facility planning projects.
· Supports the project manager and is a professional resource for all phases of the project, including coordination with clients, data collection, report/plan preparation, meeting coordination, QA/QC and submission of final deliverables.
· Coordinates / attends and/or leads kick off meetings, site visits and visioning sessions.
· Develop working knowledge / and skills in capital project planning, capital project coordination and or other related institutional / governmental planning knowledge and experience.
· Ability to act as a catalyst for continuous improvement and to advocate on behalf of the client on Planning and Budget.
· Prepares schedules, space program, budget spread sheets, ability to work with the client to balance the space program against the constraint of the budget, data summaries that illustrate the project details, and analytical position.
· Prepares visual graphics including, but not limited to block & stack diagrams, relationship diagrams, room data sheets with plan and isometric room images, site traffic / relationship studies, urban planning diagrams, and birdseye images that illustrate overall project developments.
