Senior Risk Analyst – Charlotte, NC

In this pivotal role, you’ll oversee capital, market, and liquidity risk, ensuring strict compliance with regulatory standards and internal policies.
You will be a key player in working alongside various business units, challenging their risk processes and models, and helping to strengthen the overall risk framework. Your insights will directly contribute to improving market risk, liquidity risk, and capital adequacy across the organization.
Key Responsibilities:
- Partner with business units managing capital, market, and liquidity risks to ensure compliance with regulatory and internal guidelines.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of risk management processes, methodologies, and assumptions in areas such as market risk, liquidity risk, and capital adequacy.
- Develop and implement strategies to refine and enhance the company’s risk management framework and internal controls.
- Monitor market conditions and regulatory changes, identifying potential risks and exposures.
- Prepare detailed risk reports and analyses for senior management and various committees.
- Play a role in Risk & Control Self-Assessments and assist in Recovery & Resolution planning.
- Respond to ad-hoc requests from business teams, risk management, or regulators.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (4-year college degree required).
- 4-6 years of relevant experience in banking or financial services with a focus on risk management.
- In-depth knowledge of banking, financial markets, and risk management regulations, particularly in areas like asset-liability management, liquidity, and capital management.
- Ability to analyze complex data and regulatory materials, transforming them into actionable insights.
- Strong communication skills to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across departments.
Preferred Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Experience with ALM platforms (Empyrean, QRM, Fiserv) and liquidity management tools.
- Familiarity with data management software (SAS, SQL, R) is a plus.
