The Licensed Mental Health Clinician Team Lead serves as the primary team leader for our Intensive In-Home (IIH) Team. The Intensive In-Home Service (IIHS) is a time-limited intensive home-based family preservation intervention provided to youth and their families intended to stabilize the current home environment, promote reunification and/or prevent out of home placement, with the goal of safely maintaining the youth in the least restrictive/most normative environment. This intervention uses a team approach and is time-limited ranging from 3-5 months depending on the presenting stabilization needs of the youth and family.

Job Type: This is a full-time position working in the community (this is not a remote position). This role requires travel in Southern Brunswick and Columbus counties. Areas served include Shallotte, Supply, Ash, Ocean Isle Beach, Calabash and Whiteville. Mileage reimbursement is provided.

Job Duties:
- Provide Family and Individual Therapy based on cognitive behavioral, problem solving, and solution focused oriented model that encourages the development of linkages with natural helping networks and community resources, addresses anger management techniques, and teaches appropriate communication skills
- Development and implementation of Person-Centered Plan which guides the services
- Person-Centered planning meetings and meetings for Person-Centered Plan development, updates or revisions.
- Family-focused services that consider the entire family's needs and are delivered primarily in the family's home.
- Provide parenting skills training and help the family build skills to increase their ability to deal with the youth’s mental health diagnosis.
- Ensure linkage to needed community resources and services.
- Education and training of caregivers and direct individual activities
- Support on-going treatment and functional gain
- Daily and community living skills
- Symptom monitoring and self-management of symptoms
- Delivery of service focuses on preventive, developmental and therapeutic
- Services are focused on assisting clients in preventing, overcoming, and managing functional deficits in school, home and community.
- Assist the primary caregiver and family in acquiring skills needed to assist the client in all functional domains
- Teach appropriate parenting skills
- Assist in the development and/or maintenance of appropriate behavioral self-control by providing monitoring and support of the client in his/her home or other places in the community during periods of symptom exacerbation or when functional problems interfere role functioning.
- Assist in the development and/or maintenance of skills, behavior, and responsibilities as outlined in the service plan needed to function successfully, with the greatest possible degree of self-determination and independence, in the family, school, and community.
- Graduate degree in Counseling or a related field
- General working knowledge of the human services delivery system in North Carolina
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with individuals with mental and/or behavioral health issues that includes writing treatment plans, conducting effective group therapy, and providing mental health diagnoses.
- Valid driver’s license, auto insurance and reliable transportation
- Ability to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Ability to lift between 20 and 50 pounds and meet the physical requirements of performing CPR and therapeutic holds.
- Prior experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) preferred.
- Prior supervisory experience required.
