POSITION SUMMARY:
The Laundry Worker is expected to work the day shift during the week, with occasional weekends and holidays. The laundry worker must possess a strong attention to detail and a desire to work efficiently. The laundry worker must also have a drive to work thoroughly without cutting corners, to properly care for each article. To succeed in this position, a laundry worker needs the stamina to perform manual labor in a senior living community setting, including lifting, carrying heavy objects. The laundry worker will be responsible for organizing, cleaning, sorting resident’s, apartments, and villa resident’s linens, including sheets and towels. This position also requires the laundry worker to use our provided cleaning materials to tackle items in need of extra attention. Environmental Services Supervisor, who will guide you through best practices.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Regulate machine processes when starting washers, driers, turn levels and valves to control volume of additives, specific cycles, and temperatures.
Clean machine filters and maintain the outward appearance of machines, alert supervisor when machines need professional repair.
Sort articles before cleaning, separating them by fabric, color, cleaning technique or dirt content for best results.
Sort and count articles as they are removed from dryers, hang, fold, or wrap the articles according to requirements, or preferred attention to detail.
Remove staining on fabrics through application of fabric treatments or fabric treatments sprays.
Complete assignments timely, completely, and accurately.
Attend all in-services as assigned or requested.
Participate in interdisciplinary team and other community meetings as assigned or requested.
Works effectively as a member of the team, and cooperatively with senior residents, physicians, families, and other department service providers.
Observes senior resident’s “Rights” polices and community safety policies and procedures.
Is observant of safety hazards and emergency situations, and reports to supervisor or acts According to established polices or procedures.
Fully adheres to departmental dress code, including personal hygiene and consistently presents an appropriate professional appearance.
Reports to work as scheduled and consistently demonstrates dependability and punctuality, comply with attendance policy.

Salary Range for this opportunity is $19 per hour.
EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma preferred or in process.
- Ability to read English and communicate effectively
- Must possess a minimum of 1 year of proven experience in a healthcare, hospitality, senior living setting.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- The ability to speak, read, and comprehend the English language.
- Must be motivational, energetic with a passion for serving others.
- Must possess patience and sensitivity to others' need; ability to work with community groups.
- Good Communication skills (oral and written).
